Does anyone ever really get paid for online surveys or win any prizes for participation?

I have answered several surveys,all requiring you to go through the same exact panels every time. You get frustrated with repeating yourself over and over and I have yet to receive any money,free samples,or points towards shopping sprees or any of the free dinners that are guarenteed,laptops,ipods,ect.
