What do you think about Forever21?

A Forever21 store just opened up where I live, and the first time I went I was all excited – having seen the clothes online, I thought it would be heaven – and went about like a kid in a candy shop…and was kind of overwhelmed! There was nothing I could pick up and say anything remarkable about so I left empty-handed. Sure, it’s nice to buy a sparkly dress for 20 bucks instead of 200, and over the weeks I bought a few inexpensive party tops that I’ll probably wear once and then exchange with a friend (they’re not classic pieces, for instance), but my overall impression of the store was kind of mixed. I was a little disappointed, really. I like going to Zara and being able to stare and drool at everything on each hanger and actually wear the clothes for years, but stores like H&M and F21 are really hard to ‘get into’, if you get what I mean. What do you think?

I totally know what you mean. All the clothes are just a spur-of-a-moment thing, that looks glamourous, at the moment, but then the season passes and it becomes just another one of those clothes that land in the rear of your wardrobe and never to be worn again. But hey, there’s some stuff there if you look hard enough that’s good enough to be worn a whole year for a decent price. Like a blazer perhaps, I’d get there instead of shelling out $100 for one that I only need once for some business meeting or whatnot. But what can I say, fashion trends never stay, they’ll always come and go.
