1000 Dollar Online Shopping Spree
I won a 1,000 dollar shopping spree, is this legit?
OK, so i got a call from a 1-866 number telling me i had won a 1000 dollar shopping spree. They had my name, my number, and my address already. It was from Awards Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
They asked me how old i was (17) and they told me i had to be 18 and over to receive it. But they said I can have an adult call back and theyll send me it.
Does this sound legit? I sign up with a lot of things online but i really dont know where I won this from.
But whats the worse that can happen?
Have an adult call back and ask the following:
What company is this?
What is the prize?
Is there a cost you have to pay to get the prize?
What was the name of the contest that you supposedly entered?
If they give you ANY iffy information on any of those questions, hang up.
If you’re not sure after they give you the information, look up the answer they gave you online. Like, look up the name of the company, look up the contest name. Look it up while you’re talking to them.
